The V that holds your gun or bow is very wide. It is great for a bow. However, for a rifle it is very wide and the gun falls on its side. I have a Mossberg Patriot .308 and it literally lays sideways in it. I did clamp one on each side together some and it helped a little. But you can not do it as much as you need to or you can fit your right down past the top nubs. I would not purchase the again due to that issue.
